Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I'm Lydia, a licensed Puppy School instructor with a passion for helping puppies and their families get off to the best possible start.

Alongside teaching puppy classes, I work in animal rescue and also run a dog walking business with my partner. Through both roles, I work with a wide variety of dogs and their owners every day, including dogs who need extra support with behavioural challenges. Helping owners better understand their dogs and build positive relationships with them is something I find incredibly rewarding.

As a Puppy School instructor, I teach using kind, reward-based methods that are backed by modern behavioural science. My aim is to help you build a strong foundation with your puppy from the very beginning, developing confidence, communication and essential life skills in a fun and supportive environment.

I understand that every puppy is an individual, and that raising a puppy can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you're welcoming your first puppy or have owned dogs before, my classes are designed to give you practical skills, expert guidance and ongoing support to help you and your puppy thrive together.

Is Puppy School right for me?

  • Puppy training classes are for puppies that are 20 weeks or younger (as soon as they are cleared by their vet to come).

  • Puppies must be vaccinated. Your vet will advise when it is safe for your puppy to attend. If you are unsure about vaccinations please consult your vet directly. This is for the safety of your puppy and therefore no exceptions can be made. It is your responsibility to have your puppy vaccinated. (NB: Due to the British Small Animal Veterinary Associations policy on this, we cannot consider homeopathic nosodes an acceptable alternative to conventional vaccines for young puppies.)

  • Of course! Puppy school can be a great place for puppies to build their confidence, it’s normal for puppies to be a little unsure at first. If you are unsure or worried about your puppies behaviour please get in touch before booking and we can talk further to decide what i best for you and your pup.

  • Yes! We actively encourage children to come along and get involved in training their puppy. Puppy School can be a wonderful opportunity for children to learn how to communicate with and care for their dog in a positive way.

    To ensure everyone gets the most from the class, we do ask that children attending are old enough to stay engaged with the activities and understand the importance of not distracting the other puppies while they are learning.
